Safety & Compliance — Our Certifications and Regulatory Standing

Our Commitment to Safety & Compliance

Our Commitment to Safety & Compliance

At Lombok Heli Transfer, safety is not a policy; it is the fundamental principle that governs every decision we make. There is no compromise. Our clients entrust us with their well-being, and we honor that trust by adhering to the most stringent safety standards in the aviation industry, exceeding both Indonesian and international regulations. Our entire operation is built upon a proactive, transparent, and deeply ingrained safety culture, led by the experts on our team.

Regulatory Certification and Licensing

We operate with full legal and regulatory transparency, holding all necessary certifications from the Government of Indonesia.

  • Air Operator Certificate (AOC): We operate under a 135 AOC issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of Indonesia. This is the highest level of certification for on-demand charter operations and requires a rigorous and continuous audit of our operational procedures, maintenance programs, and pilot training.
  • Business & Tourism Licenses: Our parent company, Juara Holding Group, holds a valid Surat Izin Usaha Perdagangan (SIUP) and a specific Surat Izin Usaha Pariwisata (SIUP Pariwisata), authorizing us to conduct commercial tourism activities.
  • Tax & Insurance Compliance: We are a fully registered Indonesian entity with an NPWP (Nomor Pokok Wajib Pajak – Taxpayer Identification Number). All our crew and staff are fully insured and registered with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (the national social security and insurance program).

Our Safety Management System (SMS)

The core of our safety culture is our comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS). This is a formal, top-down, organization-wide approach to managing safety risk and assuring the effectiveness of safety controls. It is compliant with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Indonesian Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASR).

Our SMS includes:

  • Proactive Hazard Identification: We continuously identify and assess potential risks, from changing weather patterns over Mount Rinjani to temporary obstacles near a villa landing zone.
  • Formal Risk Management: For every identified hazard, we conduct a formal risk assessment and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure risk is as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP).
  • Confidential Safety Reporting: We foster a non-punitive reporting culture where any team member can report a safety concern without fear of reprisal, allowing us to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Continuous Safety Audits: Our Director of Safety & Compliance conducts regular internal audits of all operational areas, from flight dispatch to maintenance logs, to ensure ongoing compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Pilot Training and Experience

Our pilots are among the most experienced in the region, selected for their skill, judgment, and professionalism.

  • Rigorous Standards: All pilots exceed the minimum flight hour requirements set by the DGCA and hold an Indonesian-validated Commercial Pilot License (CPL-H) or Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL-H).
  • Recurrent Training: Pilots undergo proficiency checks and recurrent training every six months, including emergency procedure simulations and decision-making exercises.
  • Specialized Environment Training: Every pilot receives specific training for operating in Lombok’s unique environment, including mountain flying techniques for Rinjani tours, over-water safety protocols for Gili transfers, and confined area landing procedures for villa sites.

Aircraft Maintenance and Technology

Our fleet is maintained to a standard that far exceeds regulatory requirements.

  • DGCA-Approved Maintenance Program: All maintenance is performed by DGCA-licensed engineers according to a strict schedule approved by the authorities and the aircraft manufacturers (Bell and Robinson).
  • Advanced Fleet Monitoring: Our helicopters are equipped with modern avionics, GPS tracking for real-time flight following, and Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELTs).
  • Pre-Flight Inspections: A thorough multi-point inspection is conducted by the pilot and a certified engineer before every single flight, without exception.

Passenger Safety

Your safety and comfort are paramount from the moment you meet us.

  • Mandatory Safety Briefings: Every passenger receives a clear and comprehensive safety briefing before boarding, covering all emergency procedures and equipment.
  • Strict Weather Minimums: We operate with conservative weather minimums. The final decision to fly always rests with the Pilot in Command, who has the full authority to delay or cancel a flight if conditions are not optimal for safety. We will never compromise safety for a schedule.

This unwavering commitment to safety and compliance ensures that when you book a Lombok heli transfer, you are choosing the safest, most reliable, and most professional aviation service on the island.
